At MCC Housing Services, we believe residents should have a real say in the services they receive and the communities they live in.

That’s why we offer a range of opportunities for residents to get involved, share their views, influence decisions and help shape the future of Housing Services across Manchester.

Whether you want to attend a local meeting, help review services, work alongside neighbours on community issues or simply stay informed about what’s happening in your area — there are lots of ways to take part.

Why Get Involved?

Getting involved is not just about improving services — it can also have a positive impact on your wellbeing and confidence.

Many residents tell us that taking part has helped them:

  • Meet new people
  • Feel more connected to their community
  • Build confidence and new skills
  • Have their voice heard
  • Make a positive difference locally

Every resident perspective helps us better understand what matters most to our communities.

Ways You Can Get Involved

Your Voice Scrutiny Group

The Your Voice Scrutiny Group works with Housing Services to review how services are delivered and identify areas for improvement.

Members help:

  • Review services and policies
  • Influence priorities
  • Make recommendations
  • Improve the customer experience for residents

Training and expenses are provided, and the role typically involves around one to two days each month.

Your Voice Forum Meetings

Our Your Voice Forums give residents the opportunity to:

  • Raise local issues
  • Share experiences and ideas
  • Discuss services directly with staff
  • Influence future priorities and improvements

Feedback from these meetings helps shape future scrutiny work and service development.

Tenants & Residents Groups

Residents groups bring local people together to:

  • Raise neighbourhood concerns
  • Work on community improvements
  • Build stronger local connections
  • Help shape local priorities

These groups play an important role in strengthening communities and improving neighbourhoods.

Accessible Engagement for Everyone

We want all residents to feel able to take part.

Support is available for residents with diverse needs, including:

  • Interpreters
  • Accessible materials
  • Transport assistance
  • Fully accessible venues

If you need support to get involved, we are happy to help.

Community Events and Residents’ Newsletter

Residents can also stay connected through community events, estate walkabouts and our Residents’ Newsletter, which includes:

  • Local news and updates
  • Events and activities
