Are you looking for work, thinking about a career change, or wanting to build your confidence when applying for jobs?

Manchester City Council Housing Services is working in partnership with Manchester Adult Education Service (MAES) to offer a free Get Ready to Work course for local residents in Blackley.

The course is designed to help people build the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to search for jobs, complete applications and take the next step towards employment.

What you'll learn

During the course, you'll:

  • Build confidence in looking for work
  • Learn effective job search techniques
  • Improve your CV and application skills
  • Prepare for interviews
  • Develop skills to help you succeed in the workplace

Course: Get Ready to Work
Starts: Tuesday 9 June
Ends: Thursday 14 July
Time: 10:00am – 12:30pm
Location: White Moss Road Housing Office, M9 6NZ
Tutor: Holly Skillen

Who can join?

The course is open to local residents aged 19 and over.

Participants must usually be resident in the UK on the first day of learning. Some visa and residency restrictions apply. Residents who do not meet the standard eligibility criteria may still be able to join if sufficient eligible learners are enrolled.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring the following to the first session:

  • Photo ID
  • Proof of address
  • Evidence of eligibility
