Aids and adaptations
If you or anyone in your household struggles to get around your home, we might be able to help.
Our Aids and Adaptations Service is designed to help residents remain living independently in their own home.
You could get equipment to help make things easier, like a walking frame or bath seat. It may also be possible to fit your home with specialist adaptations, such as grab rails, stairlifts or even a new bath.
Who is eligible?
All tenants are eligible for this service, including partners, children and members of the immediate family who are permanent residents in the household.
We will assess each case individually to understand your personal needs. This may involve a home visit and property inspection to see which minor or significant adaptations are suitable and feasible for the property.
To arrange a FREE assessment, contact MEAPS (Manchester Equipment and Adaptations Partnership Service), call
0161 234 5001 or email mcsreply@manchester.gov.uk.
Moving somewhere easier for you
If your own home is not suitable to be adapted, or you would like to move to a different home that is better for your needs, you can register for a new home.
Any medical needs you may have will be taken into consideration when you register.
