Hobin’s Community Fund, which provides grants to people to help them make a sustainable positive impact across north Manchester, accepts applications three times a year. It has just re-opened for its second round of applications this week and is currently receiving requests from projects that will benefit Northwards Housing’s Monsall neighbourhood area (including Moston, Harpurhey, Collyhurst and Newton Heath).

The five applicants who won funding recently all have projects planned that will benefit the Cheetham neighbourhood area (Cheetham, Blackley and Crumpsall). Alongside Together Dementia Support, they were:

  • Al Sunnah Mosque, who have planned a project to get local kids gardening.
  • The Female Basketball Association, who plan to use the funding to help break down barriers to get young women playing sport.
  • St Chad's Primary School, who plan to develop a safe space for children in Cheetham to play outside.
  • Humans MCR, a charity that helps people out of food poverty. They plan to develop a comfortable space to chat to those who need help.

Applications for the White Moss neighbourhood area (including Higher Blackley, Charlestown and New Moston) will open in the new year. Subscribe to receive an email when applications open in your area.

The closing date for applications for the Monsall neighbourhood area is Monday 18 October 2021.
